On 24th of August, the 3rd ROYAL ASCENT TO KAMNIŠKO SEDLO will take place, starting on Sunday at Gostišče Jurju in Kamniška Bistrica.
Located in the heart of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, it offers an 8.1 km climb with over 1,200 m of elevation gain, awaiting both hikers and mountain runners. The best have still not broken the magical 1-hour barrier, falling just a few seconds short in both years. This year, they say, we’re going for the record. Let’s wait and see.

At the finish line, we will refresh ourselves with delicacies prepared by the keeper and mountain runner Iztok Kolenec, who knows how to serve hungry athletes. On the way back from the summit, participants will also be able to enjoy delicious štrukelj prepared by the keeper Riki at the starting location.
Like TRAIL VELIKA PLANINA, this event also counts towards the Kamnik Municipality Running Cup and the FATBURN RUNNING CUP (more info HERE).
Registration will of course also be possible on the day of the event from 8:00 a.m. onwards. You are cordially invited.
